NECTAR conducts an annual Taste of the Industry sensory panel with thousands of omnivore consumers on hundreds of alternative protein products. The results of this blind taste test determine the finalists and winners of the NECTAR Taste Awards, with the top prize in each category awarded to the product with the highest % of participants rating it the same or better than the animal-based benchmark. Unlike traditional awards programs, The NECTAR Taste Award winners are determined by data, not judges.

In 2025, NECTAR will host its inaugural in-person award ceremony, bringing together over 150 attendees to celebrate and showcase the culinary credibility of today’s leading alternative products.
